The Carpathians change direction in the Brasov area, where the Eastern Carpathians bend to West turning into the Southern Carpathians. Within this chain of mountains, you’ll find beautiful routes, great landscapes and an incredible wildlife.

Our snowshoeing tour will be run in the remote areas belonging to Eastern and Southern Carpathians where we'll have the opportunity to explore unbeaten trails and to enjoy the view of picturesque Transylvanian villages

Snowshoeing tours are planned to take place from January to March. Book your trip as soon as possible: there is a limited number of available places for each tour.

Day 1: Arrival in Bucharest, Romania. Transfer by minibus to Sacele, at about 25 km from the city of Brasov, where our accommodation is located. After check-in we'll have our dinner and time for chatting.

Day 2: In the morning, there will be a short introduction on snowshoeing, just to let you becoming familiar with the snowshoes. After that, we’ll start climbing Rentea Peak (1378m). It will be a good opportunity to practice our skills for tracking wild animals. Arrived on the top, during the clear days, we’ll have one of the best views to Piatra Mare Mountains. Walking time: 5-6 hours. In the evening, we drive to Brasov city where we walk around the medieval historical center. Dinner is served at our hotel.

Day 3: This morning we increase the difficulty of our route by walking on Plaiul Batrana. Once arrived to the open alpine area, we take our time to admire Tarlungeni Dam and all surrounding areas. After about two hours of walking we start the descent to Doftana valley. On route, we can make a short stop to visit Bradet Orthodox Monastery. After reaching our hotel, we'll enjoy a hot shower and a tasty dinner. Walking time: 5-6 hours.

Day 4 : Today we don’t climb the mountains. After breakfast we drive to Bran village to visit the fortress well known as the home of Dracula’s spirit; a natural amphitheatre, guarded from the East by the Bucegi Mountains and from the West by the Piatra Craiului Massive, the Bran Gorge offered, due to its concave space, a wide panorama both to Burzenland (Tara Bârsei), and to the hills and valley of Moeciu. We will have our lunch in the village before driving to the new destination: Peles Castle, the most beautiful Royal residence from Romania. At the end of the day we’ll drive back to our hotel for a well deserved dinner.

Day 5 : We drive today to Vama Buzaului village; here we’ll have the opportunity to explore another remote area and to snowshoe off beaten trails.  Walking time: 4-5 hours. Lunch will be served at Pensiunea Alina; after lunch we’ll drive back to our hotel (on route we’ll do a short stop to Buffalos Reservation).

Day 6: After breakfast, we’ll drive to Moeciu de Jos village to explore the magnificent area along Valea cu Calea. There will be an unique opportunity to admire old houses, barns and stables made from wood in a traditional architecture.

Day 7: Today we walk the route who connects Babarunca with Tesla Glade. The main objectiv is to take the chance to admire the Western side of Ciucas Mountains. Walking time: 5-6 hours.

Day 8: Transfer by minibus to Bucharest for returning to your home country.
